Maliki condemns attacking Lebanese pilgrims in Anbar

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki condemned the armed attack that targeted a number of Lebanese visitors traveling to visit the holy sites in Iraq.

He said in a statement on Wednesday “With deep regret, we received the news of the martyrdom and wounding of a number of innocent Lebanese visitors on their way to visit the holy sites in Iraq. We condemn this cowardly criminal act carried out by the remnant terrorists of al Qaeda and their slaves.”

He added “We stress that these crimes will not undermine the unity of Muslims and their pride of their holy places and that the Iraqis stand united against terrorism.”
