Shahbander: INA not to nominate any candidate to replace Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Izzat al-Shahbander of the State of Law Coalition pointed out “The Iraqi National Alliance will not submit to the pressures and will not nominate a candidate to replace its sole candidate the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “INA, which will not give its candidate for PM post, Maliki, is still consolidated,” stressing that “The attempt to withdraw confidence from Maliki will not accomplished.”

Earlier, informed source stated revealed “Najaf meeting, which involved leaders of political blocs, resulted in two messages sent to the Iraqi National Alliance and the President, Jalal Talabani, to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

The source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The message sent to the INA involves a request to nominate a candidate to replace Maliki within a week.”

“The message sent to Talabani involved a call to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” the source added.

A crucial political meeting was held in Najaf province on last Saturday, some political leaders attended the meeting while some others did not.
