Asadi: SLC to hold decisive, important meeting Thursday

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hussien al-Asadi, of the State of Law Coalition assured “The SLC will hold a decisive and important meeting over the political crisis on Thursday.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The meeting will be held in response to an invitation from the head of the SLC, Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and will be attended by all the members of the SLC.”

“The meeting is expected to result in important decisions over the pending issues,” he added.

“The meeting will discuss the political updates including the results of Erbil and Najaf meetings as well as the preparations for holding the upcoming national meeting in addition to the pending issues that could be solved to reduce the political crisis like the security ministries and endorsing a bylaw of the Council of Ministers,” he concluded.

Earlier, informed source stated revealed “Najaf meeting, which involved leaders of political blocs, resulted in two messages sent to the Iraqi National Alliance and the President, Jalal Talabani, to withdraw confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.

The source stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The message sent to the INA involves a request to nominate a candidate to replace Maliki within a week.”

“The message sent to Talabani involved a call to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” the source added.

A crucial political meeting was held in Najaf province on last Saturday, some political leaders attended the meeting while some others did not.
