Karbala (IraqiNews.com) The Chairman of Karbala Provincial Council, Mohamed al-Musawi, announced his readiness to submit for the judicial sides for a trail after an arrest warrant issued against him in Anbar province on Thursday.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I did not receive any official arrest warrant from the judicial sides yet,” noting that “If there are convincing proofs against me, I will submit to the courts.”

“The arrest warrant which is issued against aims at creating a tension for the political situation in Karbala province,” he concluded.

Earlier, the Rutba Court in Anbar province issued an arrest warrant against the Chairman of Karbala Provincial Council Mohammed al-Musawi.

Judicial source reported to IraqiNews.com Thursday “Rutba Court issued an arrest warrant against Musawi due to a complaint submitted by a citizen named Mustafa al-Dulaimi who accused Musawi of being involved in Nikhaib terrorist incident which resulted in killing and injuring dozens of civilians.”

“The complaint was submitted by Dulaimi after being proved innocent from the accusations directed by Musawi for him over being involved in Nikhaib incident,” the source added.

An armed group has kidnapped a bus carrying over 30 passengers, most of them from Karbala province, among them 22 men in addition to women and children at the Dirty Valley area (70 km) to the south of Nikhaib district which is (400 km) to the west of Ramadi city the center of Anbar province.

Later, Security forces discovered the corpses of 22 men shot to death after this incident.

A security force from Karbala detained some suspects from Rutba city in Anbar province after this incident which created anger among the officials of Anbar province, but the Premier Nouri al-Maliki decided to release them after being proved innocent, according to Maliki’s statement.
