New University inaugurated in Babel

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research announced inaugurating the Qasim Green University.

A statement by the Ministry, received by IraqiNews.com on Thursday, cited “The Minister of the MoHE, Ali al-Adeeb instructed to inaugurate the university starting from the academic year 2012-2013.”

“The College of Agriculture and the College of Veterinary will split from Babel University to join the new university,” the statement added, noting that “The Ministry assigned, Hassan Kadhim al-Awadi, as the head of the university.”

“Inaugurating new universities is based on the plan of the ministry to establish specialist universities for Medicine, Oil and other sciences in order to develop the higher education in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
