US official: 1st day of talks of 5+1 reveals disagreement, agreement points

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iranian delegation for (5+1) meeting , Saed Jalili, held a meeting with the High Representative for Foreign and Security Affairs of the European Union, Catherine Ashton on the margins of the talks over the Iranian nuclear program that were conducted last Wednesday.

None of the two sides revealed what was discussed during the meeting which was the second meeting between Jalili and Ashton.

It was supposed to achieve a settlement for this issue last Wednesday, but the talks required one more day to be completed.

A high US official stated “The first day of the talks witnessed some tensions, but it also showed some points of agreement among the delegations.”

Reuters News Agency quoted the US official, as saying “I think that we have negotiative talks, but we did not reach the end of the discussions, yet.”
