Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the White bloc, Jamal al-Batiekh, pointed out “The popularity of the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, increased after holding the meeting of the Council of Ministers in Kirkuk which consolidate his rival’s concerns.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Maliki’s achievements represented by dismissing the occupation and holding the Arab Summit in Baghdad increased his supporters,” noting that “Maliki’s opponents concerned that Maliki may get the majority of the votes if early elections is going to be held.”

“Erbil and Najaf meetings did not result in any update,” he added, stressing that “Limiting the PM’s terms is the main problem which could be solved inside the parliament.”

A crucial political meeting was held in Najaf province earlier, some political leaders attended the meeting while some others did not.
