3 Mosques attacked in Basra

Basra (IraqiNews.com) The correspondent of Iraqi News IraqiNews.com mentioned that “Three mosques in Basra province were attacked by Improvised Explosive Devices on Thursday evening.”

The correspondent quoted a security source of Basra Police Command as saying “An IED’s explosion targeted the Basra Big Mosque without any human casualties.”

The source continued saying that “The IED was emplaced on the back door of the mosque before Ishaa (evening) prayer,” noting that “This attack is the second of its kind during current May since targeting Othman mosque, by armed outlaws groups, which was inaugurated a month ago.”

The source, who refused to be identified, mentioned to IraqiNews.com that “An IED exploded near the fence of the Zubair ibn al-Awam mosque in Zubair district.”
