Hakim arrived in Najaf

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Council Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, arrived in Najaf province on Saturday noon.

The reporter of IraqiNews.com stated “Hakim arrived in Najaf and visited the shrine of Shaheed al-Mihrab, Mohamed Baqir al-Hakim, and set a bouquet of flowers at the tomb on the occasion of his martyrdom anniversary.”

Hakim is expected to visit the religious authorities in Najaf to discuss the general situation in the country.

The Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council held, on Saturday morning, its celebration for the occasion of the Iraqi Martyr Day which coincided with the anniversary of the Mohamed Baqir al-Hakim and Abdul Aziz al-Hakim’s martyrdom.

The President, Jalal Talabani, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, in addition to other governmental, academic and tribal figures as well as Arab and International Ambassadors have participated in the ceremony.
