IIS urges Maliki to stop conflict between Sunni Affairs, Shiite Affairs offices

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Islamic Scholars headed by Sheikh, Khalid al-Mula, urged the Prime Minster, Nouri al-Maliki, to interfere and stop the conflict between the offices of the Sunni Affairs and Shiite Affairs.

The Sunni Affairs office accused the Shiite Affairs of taking over some lands and shrines in Kirkuk, Salah il-Din and Nineveh provinces in addition to some southern provinces, whereas the Shiite Affairs office denies such accusations by justifying it as an implementation to Law No. (19) in 2005 for running the holy shrines.

The IIS condemned targeting some mosques in Basra and other provinces by unknown doers who wanted to create a sectarian sedition among the Iraqis.

The IIS called the Iraqi people to settle the disputes by conducting dialogue in order to avoid the blood shed.
