SIIC celebration of Iraqi Martyr Day starts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council started, on Saturday morning, its celebration for the occasion of the Iraqi Martyr Day which coincided with the anniversary of the Mohamed Baqir al-Hakim and Abdul Aziz al-Hakim’s martyrdom.

The reporter of IraqiNews.com stated “The President, Jalal Talabani, the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, in addition to other governmental, academic and tribal figures as well as Arab and International Ambassadors have arrived at the office of the Head of the SIIC, Ammar al-Hakim, on Saturday morning.”

“The celebration started with reciting chapters of the Holy Quran and poems over the occasion,” the reporter concluded.
