UAE company concludes contract to invest in Basra Free Zone
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The General Bureau of the Free Zones within the Ministry of Finance signed a contract with Emirati (SKE Energy) company to invest in Khor al-Zubayr Free Zone. The Director General of the bureau Sabah Saleh al-Qaisi said “The UAE (SKE Energy) Co. concluded a contract to invest a service project in the field of oil services and rehabilitation,” noting that “The land area allocated for the project is 16, 000 sq. meters.” He added “The GBFZ also concluded a contract with Hilal al-Iraq for Telecommunications and Internet to invest a service project in the free zone of Khor al-Zobayr of a land area of (500) sq. meters.” The Ministry of Finance has signed, on last Saturday, a contract with Italian (M.G.M Lines) company to erect two investment projects in the same area, the first one is commercial and the second is a service project. It is worth mentioning that Iraq has three free zones, the first one is in Khor al-Zobayr in Basra, the second is “Flayfil” in Nineveh province, and the third one is in al-Qa’im district in Anbar province.
