Hakim emphasizes relations between Hakim, Sadr’s families

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, emphasized the historical relations between the Hakim and Sadr’s families.

He stated in a press conference held after his visit to the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, in Najaf province on Sunday “We discussed the relations between the two families and the two Trends,” noting that “We reviewed the political crisis where we stressed importance of holding the dialogue among the political sides.”

“We also discussed a number of issues and we reached identical views over the pending issues among the blocs,” he added.

For his part, Sadr confirmed “The necessity of unifying the SIIC and the Sadr Trend to serve the country,” assuring that “The withdrawal of the confidence is not as important as eliminating the dictatorship which could be achieved if the political sides united.”
