US Ambassador: US support any choice by Iraqis under constitution, agreements

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The US Ambassador, James Jeffrey, assured during his meeting with the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani that “The US supports any choice made by the Iraqis and goes in harmony with the constitution and the political agreements.”

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “Barzani received Jeffrey at Salah-il-Din resort on Sunday on the occasion of the end of his mission in Iraq,” noting that “The two sides discussed the political updates.”

“Jeffrey thanked Barzani for his help to him during his work in Iraq praising the role of Kurdistan Region in sustaining peace in Iraq,” the statement mentioned.

“Jeffrey assured that Kurdistan Region under the Presidency of Barzani accomplished great steps in all aspects as all Iraqis realize this reality,” the statement concluded.
