Sadr denies reports over nominating Sadrist replacement for Maliki

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The leader of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, denied his support to nominate a candidate from the Sadr Trend to “replace the current Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki.”

Sadr said in his response to a question from one of his followers about some rumors related to his support for a candidate from the Sadr trend to replace the PM Maliki, “I did not said that and anyone who says that should be a liar or have no loyalty, especially at this stage.”

Some media outlets have reported about the support of Muqtada al-Sadr for a substitute for Maliki from al-Sadr Trend if the political blocs agreed to withdraw confidence from the government.
