Iraqi-Japanese economic committee holds meeting in Tokyo

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The first session of the joint Iraqi-Japanese economic committee was held in Tokyo on Tuesday evening.

The Iraqi delegation which was headed by the Iraqi Minister of Foreign Affairs, Hoshyar Zebari, included representatives of Ministries of Trade, Finance, Oil, Industry, Agriculture, Health, and the General Secretariat of the Cabinet.

The Japanese delegation was headed by the Japanese Minister of Foreign Affairs (Koichiro Kimba) and included the Japanese Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry (Yukio Aidanu) as well as representatives from Japanese ministries of International Trade and Foreign Affairs.

The Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs reported in statement that “During the main inauguration session, the two sides discussed the Iraqi- Japanese relations and the results of the previous visits of the Premier and the Iraqi Ministers as well as the bilateral relations between the two countries.”

The statement added that “The meeting included focusing on the importance of handling obstacles which can occur on administrative, technical, legal, transportation, travel and providing protection for Japanese businessmen and investors,” stressing on “Taking advantage from the Japanese loan to support the sectors of energy, refineries and projects of
