White Bloc against withdrawing confidence from PM Maliki, says MP

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Ahmed al-Uraibi of the White Bloc pointed out that “The White Bloc stands against the proposal of withdrawing confidence from the Cabinet of Premier Nouri al-Maliki.”

In a statement to the Iraqi News, he said Wednesday “The White Bloc supports holding the National Meeting called for by the President Jalal Talabani,” describing this meeting as “The best option for ending the pending files among the political blocs.”

MP Uraibi ruled out that “The leader of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, is willing to convert the government into caretaking cabinet,” noting that “The Sadr Trend practiced several methods along with the other blocs in order to relief the current political crisis through comprehensive solutions rather than withdrawing confidence from the Cabinet.”

“The Sadr Trend is against the principle of withdrawing confidence from Maliki’s government and the Sadrists support the comprehensive settlements and applying former agreements such as Erbil Government or other meetings that preceded forming the government,” he assured.

“The crisis cannot be settled unless through dialogues and mutual understandings among political sides,” he clarified.

“The leader of the Sadr Trend is working on applying the former agreements in order to achieve the principle of real partnership government,” MP Uraibi concluded.
