Sadr calls Maliki to resign

Najaf (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki to resign.

In response to a question raised by one of his followers over Maliki’s rejection to the calls to form the regions in the south and middle of Iraq, he stated “I thank him for rejecting these calls and I ask him to do a favor and submit his resignation for the people who want good living and for partners who want partnership.”

Earlier, some of the governors and the heads of the provincial councils held a meeting last Thursday in Basra province to discuss the possibility of forming the regions if the confidence was withdrawn from Maliki.
