MP rules out Maliki’s resignation from his post

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Salman al-Musawi, of the State of Law Coalition ruled out that the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to submit his resignation because it will be like an escape from the responsibility.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We still need him at the current stage as he accomplished many achievements at the earlier stage.”

“It is not a personal case rather it is legal case where these sides who want to withdraw confidence from Maliki should go the parliament and to follow the legal procedures mentioned in the constitution,” he added.

Earlier, the head of the Sadr Trend, Muqtada al-Sadr, called Maliki to resign to solve the crisis.

MP, Saad al-Mutalibi, of the State of Law Coalition considered the call as political blackmail.
