Araji confirms receiving threats before facing assassination attempt
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Zuhair al-Araji, confirmed receiving threats before being subject to assassination attempt on Thursday morning.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “I received threats before the bombings that targeted my motorcade in al-Faysaliya neighborhood in Mosul on Thursday which resulted in destroying two vehicles without casualties.”
“The Commander of the 3rd Division of the Iraqi Federal Police, Brigadier Sabieh al-Gharawi, is supervising the investigation to reveal the sides which conducted the assassination attempt,” Araji concluded.
Earlier, MP, Zuhair al-Araji, of the Iraqiya Hurra bloc survived assassination in central Mosul on Thursday morning.
A statement by the bloc received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Two Improvised Explosive Devices exploded targeting Araji’s motorcade near a checkpoint of the Intelligence elements of the Interior Ministry located close to the branch 14 of the Kurdistani Democratic Party.”
