Formation of Mosul Security Belt Brigade

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Command of the Federal Police of Nineveh province announced forming the Security Belt Brigade for Mosul city.

The Commander of the Federal Police Third Division Major General, Mehdi Sabih al-Gharrawi, stated to IraqiNews.com on Thursday that “The Security Belt Brigade consists of (890) members, most of them are security elements who were previously dismissed of Nineveh police,” noting that “The Brigade will start its duties from the next week.”

Al-Gharrawi added that “The headquarter of the Brigade will be on Ghazlani military camp and the Brigade will focus on providing protection for the areas located on the south and west of Mosul city.” \
