MP doubts number of signatures collected to withdraw confidence from Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdul Abbas Shiya, of the State of Law Coalition doubted “The number of MPs’ signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The proof that IS did not collect the required number of signatures is that it presented these signatures more than one time and withdrew them.”

He added “The President, Jalal Talabani, told the delegation of Dawa Islamic Party that he did not sign the request for withdrawing confidence,” assuring that “The statements launched by the IS, Kurdistani Alliance and the Sadr Trend over collecting required number of signatures are groundless.”

He called “The sides which call for withdrawing confidence from Maliki to adopt constitutional ways.”

Earlier, the spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to IraqiNews.com “We managed to get the required signatures to withdraw confidence from Maliki,” noting that “The MPs’ signatures were collected from all the blocs.”
