Urgent – Sides met in Erbil on Sunday to send clarifying message to Talabani

Erbil (IraqiNews.com) The political sides which met in Erbil on Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.”

A statement by Kurdistan Regional Government received by IraqiNews.com cited “The sides of Erbil-Najaf meetings held a meeting in Erbil on Sunday to discuss the political updates.”

“The attendants of the meeting stressed the necessity of keeping on all the constitutional efforts to accomplish their aims,” the statement added, noting that “They also indicated Maliki’s attempts to hurdle the constitutional reformations which aim at eliminating the monopolization.”

“They condemned pressuring MPs to change their stances through various ways practiced by the PM and his team,” the statement mentioned.

“The attendants of the meeting also stressed the right of the Iraqi National Alliance in nominating the substitute for Maliki,” the statement concluded.
