Crisis to be settled through Talabani’s wisdom, says Batiekh

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the White bloc, Jamal al-Batiekh, stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The President, Jalal Talabani, is the preserver for the constitution and by the virtue of his political experience and wisdom, the crises will be settled.”

He added “Talabani’s stance in rejecting approving the request for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, confirmed that there is no other way to settle the crisis except through the constitution.”

“Talabani used to be the President of all Iraq rather than one specific side,” he mentioned.

“The challenges that face Iraq could be settled only through the constitution,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
