Elewi: "Blocs failed to withdraw confidence from Maliki feel embarrassed"

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Kareem Elewi, pointed out that “The political blocs that called for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, feel embarrassed because they failed in their attempt.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “These blocs intend to head to the parliament to present their project after failing in conducting it through the President, Jalal Talabani.”

“These blocs will not be able to accomplish the project of withdrawing confidence from Maliki because the majority of MPs oppose it,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured, on last Saturday night, that “The number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.”

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
