Sinjiri: Political leaders to discuss questioning Maliki in parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Faris al-Sinjiri, of the Iraqiya Slate, revealed that “The leaders of the political blocs will discuss another means to topple the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, after the rejection of the President, Jalal Talabani, to the request to withdraw confidence from Maliki.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “The political leaders’ meeting in Erbil on Sunday will discuss the other options such as questioning Maliki in the parliament to topple him later.”

“One of the issues that Maliki will be questioned for is assigning the security officials without consulting the parliament and granting them the confidence to run important posts as acting commanders,” he added, noting that “This is a constitutional breach where these posts must be occupied within six months from the date of foring the Cabinet.”

“In case Maliki was questioned, there will be dangerous files against him by some blocs,” he concluded.
