Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate condemned targeting the leader with the Iraqiya Slate, Tawfiq al-Ebadi, in Basra province on Sunday.

The spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damaluji, said in a press statement “Ebadi’s house was targeted after showing him on media outlets participating in the meeting of Erbil over withdrawing confidence from the Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki through the constitutional and democratic means.”

“Such attacks reflect the failure of the doers of this attack and it is an attempt to frighten the political opponents who choose the people’s rights before the personal ones,” she added.

“The IS calls the security departments to protect the people and hold the responsibility of protecting Ebadi,” she concluded.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
