Kurdistani opposition criticizes postponing local elections

Sulaimaniyah (IraqiNews.com) The Kurdistani opposition parties criticized the decision of postponing the local elections in the provinces of Kurdistan Region which is issued by the Independent High Electoral Commission with the support of the government of Kurdistan Region.

A statement received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Islamic Union of Kurdistan, Change Movemnet and the Kurdistani Islamic Group held a meeting in the office of the KIG in Sulaimaniya.”

“The opposition highly criticized this decision, noting that the justifications given by the IHEC are weak,” pointing out Kurdistan RegionG has postponed the local elections several times without any justifications,” the statement added.

“Following such policy and interfering in the elections affairs will result in political crisis,” the statement concluded.
