Maliki instructs to ban military gathering during religious ceremonies

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, ordered to ban “The gatherings or demonstrations that have military style during the religious ceremonies all over the Iraqi provinces.”

A statement by Maliki’s office received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) cited “Maliki headed the meeting of the Crisis Cell which involved key officers in the Ministry of Interior and the Ministry of Defense in Baghdad on Monday,” noting that “Maliki assured that we look for unified Iraq through preserving its regional and international position.”

“He indicated the danger of the political figures’ interference in the security file,” stressing that “The security forces should be kept away from the politicization to preserve the security achievements which were accomplished through the great sacrifices,” the statement concluded.

Some areas in Baghdad witness intensified deployment for the security forces to sustain security for the pilgrims who started to reach Baghdad to commemorate the anniversary of the martyrdom of Imam, Musa Bin Jaafar al-Kadhum, ((peace be upon him)) which will take place on next Saturday.
