Nineveh Judiciary Council extends suspension of its acts

Nineveh, Mosul (IraqiNews.com) The Mosul judiciary Council renewed the suspension of its activities because the Provincial Council and the Local Government in Nineveh did not respond to their demands related to providing protection for the members of the judiciary council.

The member of Mosul judiciary Council. Raed Amjed al-Taleb, stated to IraqiNews.com on Tuesday “The judiciary council held its ninth session on Tuesday and decided the suspension of its activities until further notice because the Provincial council of Nineveh province and the local government did not respond for the demands of the judiciary council to provide the protection for its members after targeting three of them.”

Al-Taleb added that “The local government does not cooperate with the judiciary council which hinders the activities of the JC and prevents it from presenting the services for the citizens.”
He pointed out that “A third of the members of the JC were killed and the other third suffered failed assassination attempts while the remain third is subject to the threat from the armed groups.” \
