Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Parliamentary Ahrar bloc, Bahaa al-Araji, assured that “The last phone call made between the Premier Maliki and Leader of Sadrist Trend, Moqtada al-Sadr, did not tackle political sides.” Araji said “The talk between Maliki and Sadr did not tackle any political topic about the political crisis but rather it was an ordinary speech about the latest series of bombings.” It is said that Maliki and Sadr have discussed through the phone call, on Thursday, the latest political updates. For his part, the SLC’s MP Kamal al-Saedi described these talks as “positive” The relations between Maliki and Moqtada al-Sadr witnessed significant tensions especially after the latter’s participation in the meetings of Arbil and Najaf in which h called the Iraqi National Alliance to replace Maliki, otherwise, they will resort to withdraw confidence from him. Sadr also invited Maliki to step down his post.
