Legal expert warns from exploiting political crises by Kuwait for its interests

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The legal expert Mohamed al-Samarrai warned from exploiting the current political crisis by Kuwait to aprrove a number of agreements over the pending issues to serve its interests on the account of the Iraqi interests. Samarrai said “The executive authority is responsible for the technical details concerning concluding any agreement related to solving the pending issues with Kuwait thorough the specialized technical committees which practice thier role in submitting recommendations to the Council of Ministers which in turn submit them to the legislative authority in the form of law draft based on the provisions of (60 Article) of the Constitution.” He added “The law draft submitted by the CoM goes through discussions by the parliamentary specialized committees and then put the to vote.” Samarrai referred that “What is worrying is the demand by some sides to suspend the work of the Joint Iraqi-Kuwaiti Committee which could open way for Kuwait to take advantage of the political situation to impose their will without taking into account Iraq’s interests.” It is mentioned that the joint Iraqi-Kuwaiti Committee have held a session on last April, 29^th in Baghdad where they discussed a number of pending issues between both countries and ways of settling them.
