Mulla: IS to sue Maliki for his statements against MPs supported confidence withdrawal
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate declared its intention to file a lawsuit against the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, under the defamation charges, who has described the signatories on withdrawing confidence as “conspirators”. The Spokesperson of the IS, Haider al-Mulla, said “Maliki described, during TV interview, those MPs who signed the request of withdrawing confidence from him as conspirators,” noting that “We confirm that the signatories represent religious, political, tribal and popular references such as Moqtada al-Sadr, Masoud Barzani and Ayad Allawi.” He added “The signatories, who reached 176 MPs, are representatives of the Iraqi people where each MP represent 100 000 Iraqi citizens,” noting that “The signatories practiced their Constitutional right.” He emphasized that “Maliki’s remarks indicate that he does not believe in the Constitution and the democratic process.” “Maliki’s accusations via media outlets are punishable misdemeanor according the Iraqi Penal Code, so the signatories assert that this slander by the PM gives rise to their determination to move forward in the process of withdrawing confidence from him,” Mulla concluded.
