Mustafa: Political process heads towards great crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Lateef Mustafa of Taghyeer bloc pointed out “The political process is heading towards a great crisis that could not be solved represented by some sides calling for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, and the other sides calling for withdrawing confidence from the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The disputes between the Iraqiya Slate and the State of Law Coalition led to the deterioration of the legislative and executive authorities.”

“Endorsing the laws should continue without being affected by the crises and the government must implement the endorsed laws,” he added.

“The lack of cooperation between the government and the parliament has a negative impact on many aspects,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
