Batiekh calls political blocs to show respect for Talabani

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Secretary General of the White bloc, Jamal al-Batiekh, called “The political blocs to show respect for the post and the decisions of the President, Jalal Talabani.”

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We reject imposing pressures on Talabani to send the request of withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, to the parliament,” calling “The blocs that met in Erbil to respect the President’s post.”

“Talabani dealt with this issue wisely and rationally as he treated all the blocs equally,” he added.

“If the MPs’ signatures were completed, he would send them to the parliament,” he stressed.

He called “All the blocs to avoid following foreign agenda and to adopt dialogue to settle crisis.”

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffesient and valid.

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
