Urgent – GF Commander survives assassination in Baquba

Diyala, Baquba (IraqiNews.com) ”The Commander of the Ground Forces, General Ali Ghaidan, survived an assassination attempt during the suicide bombing which targeted a mourning procession in central Baquba of Diyala province on Monday evening,” security source reported to IraqiNews.com.

The source added “Three of the General Ghaidan’s guards were injured due to the explosion.”

Earlier, a suicide bomber detonated his explosive belt inside a mourning procession and resulted in killing and injuring more than (50) persons, according to initial account, four of them are security officers in Shefta village of central Baquba the central of Diyala province. \
