Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Salman al-Musawi, of the State of Law Coalition assured that “If the political blocs do not speed up the procedures to investigate the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, we will host him in the parliament to discuss some files.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “Investigating Maliki is a democratic process granted by the constitution.”

“No one will object this process if there are justifications but it is rejected in case it is conducted for political aims,” he concluded.

Earlier, the President Jalal Talabani assured that the number of the MPs who have signed a request to withdraw confidence from the Premier Nouri al-Maliki reached only 160 MPs which is less than the required number limited by 163.

The political sides which held a meeting in Erbil on last Sunday decided to send “A clarifying message to confirm that the signatures collected for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, are constitutionally suffecient and valid.”

It is worth mentioning that the head of the Iraqiya Slate, Ayad Allawi, the Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, and the Deputy Premier, Salih al-Mutleg, participated in a meeting in Nineveh to discuss the efforts for withdrawing confidence from the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki.
