2 persons arrested in Maysan

Maysan, Amara (IraqiNews.com) Security forces arrested two persons with drugs, ammunition and explosives in their possession in Maysan province.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com on Saturday that ”A joint force of police patrols, drug combat forces and Directorate of police dogs managed to arrest two persons with a large quantity of ammunition and explosives in their possession.”

The source added “During searching the house of the detainees, the force discovered ammunition and weapons that included six mortar shells, an Improvised Explosive Device IED, 12 hand grenades and anti-persons rocket,” noting that “The ammunition was secured and lifted.”

The source pointed out that ”The ammunition and the detainees were referred to the specialized authorities for investigation.” \
