MoE to increase electricity share of Basra up to (1100) MW

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Electricity decided to increase the electricity energy share of Basra province from the national power grid up to (1100) MW. A statement by the MoE quoted the Director General of the Electricity Distribution Directorate of the south region, Mohamed Hashim Jaafer, as saying “The MoE approved to increase Basra share of electric current produced by the national grid to reach 1100 MW after being 900 MW.” “This increase will enable us to adopt three hours run for three hours shutdown, for the high rise in the temperature and humidity during the summer months in the province due to its proximity to the sea level,” Jaafer assured.”
