Shahristani invites Indonesian companies to invest in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani invited the Indonesian Companies and investors to participate in reconstructing Iraq. A statement by Shahristani’s office cited “Shahristani discussed during his current visit to the Republic of Indonesia with the Deputy President of Indonesia, Chairman of Trade and Industry Bureau and a number of representatives of the senior companies and investors there, the means of consolidating the economic ties between both countries.” A statement quoted the DPM as saying “Iraq intends to launch major development plan in sector of strategic industries especially in field of petrochemical plants and fertilizers factories.” The DPM, during his speech in the Indonesian Parliament, assured that “Iraq witnesses intensive development in rebuilding the infrastructures after eliminating the criminal gangs of the terrorist organizations,” stressing that “Now, there is a great opportunity in front of the Indonesian companies to work in Iraq in all fields.” Shahristani highlighted the historical bilateral relations between Iraq and Indonesia.
