Lami demands releasing detained journalists all over world

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Chairman of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Muayad al-Lami, demanded in his speech, during the celebration of the Iraqi Press Day, to release all journalists who languish in prisons all over the world. Lami continued saying “We will continue demanding to release all the prisoners of the Press pioneers and I would like to tell them that you honored us as you were loyal and faithful to your profession.” The Chairman of the IJS thanked the PM Maliki for the latter’s decision to allocate a piece of land for each journalist and for his support to the freedom of expression and his non-intervention in the journalists’ affairs. He clarified that “Many lawsuits were filed against certain journalists,” stressing that “We won all those cases and the Iraqi journalists proved that they are really genuine sons of Iraq.” Lami expressed his greetings and salutations to the late Chairmen of the Iraqi Journalists Syndicate Shehab al-Timimi. Finally, The Chairman of the IJS expressed his gratefulness to the Arab artists who came to Iraq to participate in the Day of Iraqi Press.
