Shahristani, Chinese Company discuss cooperating in oil sector

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Federal Government of Iraq expressed its willingness to cooperate with Chinese companies in field of developing oil fields and building refineries in Iraq. A statement by the Office of Deputy Prime Minister for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani stated “Shahristani received, on Wednesday, the Head of the Chinese National Oil Company (Petro China), Iraq Branch, Ms. Wang Shali and her accompanying delegation.” “Shahristani expressed the Iraqi Government’s desire to start cooperation scope with Chinese companies to develop the oil fields and refineries in Iraq after the progress achieved by these companies in Iraq,” the statement referred. It continued saying that “The Chinese delegation offered detailed explanation about the performance of Petro China Co. in Iraq,” noting that “Its total investments in Iraq reached $ 7 billion.”
