ICP calls to conduct dialogue, conduct earlier elections to settle crisis

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Communist Party called to conduct dialogue and submit concessions in order to settle the political crisis and to conduct the earlier elections in case the political sides did not submit the concessions.

Earlier, the Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki received in his office on Thursday the Secretary General of the Iraqi Communist Party, Hamid Majid Musa and a number of leaders within the ICP where the ICP’s delegation expressed their support for PM Maliki’s proposal related to adopting either dialogue or early elections as the only way out of the current political crisis in the country.

A statement by the ICP on the anniversary of the 14th of July Revolution in 1958, which resulted in establishing the Republican regime and toppling the Kingship regime, cited “We follow up with concern the dangerous increase of the political crisis in Iraq and the attempts to create the sectarian seditions and settling the disputes according to the personal benefits which resulted in not having the ability to settle the crisis by the political blocs.”

“As we assured previously that we support the national stances over settling the political crisis in order to preserve Iraq and the Iraqi people who suffer for the continuity of the political crisis,” the statement added.

The statement stressed “There should be a change after nine years of the same procedures of sectarianism where dealing with the country as booty is rejected.”
