Zico dissolves Iraqi National Football Team
Jeddah (IraqiNews.com) The head coach of the Iraqi National Football Team Zico announced that he decided to dissolve the team.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) Friday “I decided to dissolve the team from now till next August when I will form a new team in preparation for next competitions,” noting that “I agreed with the Iraqi Football Association to exclude some players from the new team and replace them with new players.”
“The Iraqi team is among the best teams the region and has the character of the champion because if other teams have the same circumstances of the Iraqi team they would forget about football,” he assured.
He added “The Iraqi participation in the Arab Cup of Nations gave many positive results such as realizing new good players for the Iraqi team although it caused exhaustion for the players,” calling the Arab Football Association to cancel the match of the 3rd and 4th positions.
Iraq has won the bronze medal in the ACoN after beating the Saudi team (1-0) during the match held in Jeddah city of the KSA on last Thursday.
