Saad: Damage of electric cables, main reason behind wasting electricity

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The member of the Parliamentary Oil and Energy Committee, Suzan al-Saad assured “The damage caused by the old transforming electric cables is the reason behind wasting the generated electricity power.”

In a press statement, she said “There is no benefit from increasing the generated electric power without rehabilitating the transforming net because most of the electric power is not delivered correctly to the citizens.”

“After checking some districts in Basra province, we found that it suffers from the unstable electric power received from Iran, whereas other districts suffer from the lack of electric power provided by the government,” she added.

She called the Ministry of Electricity to “Exert more efforts to provide the electric power especially before Ramadan which coincided this year with the hot season in Iraq.”

She appreciated the role of the local government in Basra which continues working to end this problem in the province.
