Shara: Parliament supports Basra Economic Capital of Iraq project

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP Furat al-Shara of the Parliamentary Citizen Bloc announced completing the law draft of “Basra the Economic Capital of Iraq.” Shara said “The Citizen Bloc submitted a request to the Parliament Chairmanship in this regard which in turn approved the draft of this law.” He added “a large number of MPs support this law and it was also approved by the Parliamentary Economic Committee.” It is worth to be mentioned that the project of Basra the Economic Capital of Iraq has been proposed by the Head of the Iraqi Islamic Supreme Council Ammar al-Hakim. Basra province represents the center of the oil industry in Iraq, having two-thirds of oil reserves in the country which is 143 billon barrels where ten oil international companies work on its lands.
