Shahristani, Dhi-Qar PC member discuss establishing Oil Company

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Deputy Premier for Energy Affairs Hussein al-Shahristani discussed with the Deputy Chairman of Dhi-Qar Provincial Council the issue of establishing Dhi-Qar Oil Company and a Station for Generating Electricity Power.

A statement by Shahristani’s office to Iraqi News cited Thursday “Shahristani received in his office in Baghdad the Deputy Chairman of Dhi-Qar PC Abdul Hadi Mohan.”

“Both sides discussed the situation of electricity and oil in the province and Shahristani instructed to speed up constructing Nasiriya Oil Refinery with a capacity of 300,000 barrel per day according to international standards,” the statement added.

“Shahristani and Mohan discussed the issue of establishing Dhi-Qar Oil Company and constructing Dhi-Qar Electricity Station with a capacity of 500 MW to provide the province with 250 MW and the rest goes to the national Grid,” according to the statement.
