MP calls government speed up checking files of Local Councils members

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Hamid al-Khudari, of the Citizen bloc called “The government to speed up checking the files of the Local Council members to regain their financial rights.”

He assured in a press conference at the parliament building on Monday “The members of the Local Councils were deprived from their salaries according to Article 40 of the Federal Budget of 2012.”

“I call the concerned sides to speed up checking their files as we call the parliamentary Financial Committee to take its role to follow up this issue to solve it,” he concluded.

Earlier, the parliament canceled the salaries of the Local Councils members.
