Officer injured in Sadr city

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) An officer of the Oil Facilities Protection Service was injured due to an armed attack in eastern Baghdad.

Security source mentioned to IraqiNews.com on Wednesday that ”Unidentified gunmen opened fire targeting a Lieutenant Colonel in the Oil Facilities Protection Service within the Ministry of Oil while he was traveling by his vehicle through (83) Sector in Sadr city of eastern Baghdad.”

The source added “The gunmen managed to flee after the attack while the police transported the injured officer to the hospital for treatment.” \
