MoI to construct new plant for Nitrogenous Fertilizers in Basra
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Ministry of Industry and Minerals announced concluding an agreement with a Japanese Company to establish a new plant for nitrogenous fertilizers in Basra province. A statement by the Ministry cited that “The MoI represented by the Petrochemical Industries and Fertilizers Commission concluded a non-binding Good Will letter and Confidentiality Information Agreement with Mitsui Japanese Company to erect a new factory for fertilizers in Khor al-Zubair district in Basra of production capacity that exceeds million tons per year of urea fertilizers and 200,000 tons of additional Ammonia for export.” “This agreement is a step towards increasing participation of Japanese companies in investment opportunities in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
